Soraia Meneses Alarcão

Ph.D., Invited Assistant Professor

Soraia Meneses Alarcão holds a PhD in Informatics from Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, Portugal (FCUL). She is an Invited Assistant Professor at FCUL and an integrated researcher at LASIGE. Her research focuses on developing assistive technologies to deliver personalized and emotion-aware interventions for people living with cognitive impairments and autistic individuals. She has participated in multiple EU-funded research consortia as a hired researcher/member (e.g., Horizon 2020 and FP7-SPACE), and has been working in the a-STEP COST action as an integrated researcher and task leader. She is a member of ACM and ISTAART - Alzheimer’s Association. Her research interests lies in the intersection of Affective Computing, Assistive Technologies, Human-Computer Interaction, and Human-centric AI.
